Ego vs. Ego
So, I've always kinda loved the idea of two people that seem completely opposite to one another somehow managing to find common ground (or a least managing to be entertaining as the fuss and fight). I guess I had that in mind when I made this.

Bundt Cake and BGF Summary
Hello there, here's another Munny (and here's me hoping that the thing on its head actually looks like a bundt cake cause that's what it's supposed to be). I started this yesterday and finished it today. This will be the third one in a series of Kidrobot vinyl toys that I title with names beginning with the letter "B". Don't ask me why, that's just how it ends up. I have plans for more as time goes on, I really want to build more of an inventory and I'm not sure what to price them yet. I also want to show them at a later date.
I'm going to be spending the rest of this week making art since the last 2 weeks of this month are going to be very busy for me. Lots of projects in the works. So there may be more updates as the week progresses and since nothing is really planned for the week I'm pretty excited for what I'll come out with (for example, right now I'm drawing a gas mask for some unknown reason).
Also, here's the summary I wrote on the Toby Sisson show at air sweet air for BGF.

Zachary Taylor
I know, I know. It doesn't look like him at all, but it's really hard to make a president interesting when he's never had a sex scandal or isn't printed on any money.

Inspiration
This is not as original as it seems. Another artist by the name of Agnes Cecile painted this lovely image and I wanted to see if I could replicate the imagery and the emotional resonance without making it an exact copy. Something about the painting made me feel something beautiful and I wanted to see if I could make myself feel the same way by creating a similar piece. Naturally, I failed, but I did make myself feel something just as wonderful in my attempt. In truth, there is nothing better than the original and she's a fabulous artist.

Bows and Bells
In my last post I mentioned that my mother, after seeing the latest
Munny I customized, gifted me a Trikky (which is the cat version of a
Munny). I've always wanted a Trikky mainly because I wanted to make a
Cheshire Cat custom toy (which I did and later came to regret it terribly), but when I finally got Trikky I was a little
unsure of what to do with it.
Trikky and Munny are clearly different; Trikky's head is HUGE, but the cat ears are hard to maneuver around. It's body is more stout than Munny's so it's hard to sculpt around it's midsection. But the best thing about Trikky is that when you're all finished with the sculpting, painting, and varnishing it so much easier to put back together than Munny is. I had plans for what I wanted the next Munny to look like, but I had to scrap them because Trikky's physicality didn't lend itself to those plans. But nevertheless, this turned out very well in my opinion and was a great challenge sculpting wise. I went out on Friday and bought a lot of Sculpey clay and I can't wait to use it.
For now, I think I'm gonna take a little break from Munny's and Trikky's although I doubt this break will last long. I have some drawings to finish, some shows coming up in August, and some projects for BGF just around the corner.
