Merry Christmas... sort of

This was going to be part of a series that combined Christmas imagery with my greatest fears in life. I'm not sure if I'm still going to do this, I've recently received a lot on my plate.

Cheshire Cat Prototype

This is the very first image I've ever done of The Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland for a class back at art school. He's my favorite character from that book and there is going to be a lot more of him around here because I'm so proud of the way he looks. My version of the Cheshire cat (and I'm not sure if I've said this before) is not bloated and creepy looking like the original illustrations and the Disney version. I wanted him to be sleek and even a bit handsome. This image was done in gouache which looks really nice and clean, but takes a lot of time so I don't use it often.
